Sadie's 8 months old

I can't believe that my 2nd child is 8 months old! It has gone by so fast.  She loves to babble and play with her big sister.  They have such a great time together.  Ella loves to make Sadie laugh and she really is good at it.  Sadie weighs about 20 lbs and is 26 in long.  She can sit up all by herself, she has learned to wave and recently started clapping. I really look forward to her and Ella growing up together.  I'm so excited to do things like bake cookies together and go get pedicures!  Watch out Jim, it's only begun.

Dancin' Queens

Yes, that's plural.  It used to be singular however her sister has caught the dancing bug recently.  Pay close attention to Ella's footwear.  We cannot be awake and not have them on.  No, it doesn't matter what we are wearing for the day, even if we still have our pajamas on, we will be wearing them!

Sadie 7 months, Ella 2, Jim's new job and our 5th Anniversary

Whew, this is liable to be kinda long (sorry!)

Well, Miss Sadie turned 7 months on Sunday. Can you believe it? I still can't. At her 6 month check-up she was 18lbs 1oz and 26in long. Dr. Camp said she looked really great and seemed to be progressing right on schedule. She can roll over in all directions, however, we've figured out that rolling over just really isn't her thing. She would rather just stay put. Which is basically what she does. Ella was a mover, but Sadie can sit still and play with a object for what seems like forever. She is sitting up on her own, loves to eat all kinds of food and jump in her jumpy. She is babbling a lot and loves to touch your face and grab things (including hair.) She will even transfer objects from hand to hand. She is so sweet, cuddly and lovey. I've always called her my sweet Sadie Jo and that is exactly what she is sweet!

Ella turned 2 on Thursday and is quite proud of herself for that one.  This was our conversation the other day
Me: Hey, what is your name?
Ella: I'm Ella
Me: Well Ella, how old are you?
Ella: (batting her eyes) I'm two.
We have become quite prissy and independent.  We know exactly what we want and what we are going to do to get it.  Not in a bad way, she has just really figured out how things work and how to get things done.  Everybody says the terrible twos but Ella has actually become very pleasant.  Since she can communicate so well and does know what she wants a lot of the whining and fussiness has subsided.  Don't get me wrong we still have typical two year old moments but it hasn't been nearly as bad a I expected.  I am really enjoying getting to know Ella as a little person.  She is so kind and helps me out tremendously with Sadie.  If I ask her to do something she gets right on it.  She loves to feel needed.  She also has a huge heart and really cares about other people.  Which in turn means we do get our feelings hurt pretty easily but those are good times of learning also. She got her first haircut on her birthday and we had an owl party.
Look at that mop!
This is the wonderful Miss Brittany who works wonders.
Crazy Gran!
That's much better
Look WHOOOOO's turning 2!

Sorry if the pictures got out of order it's not letting me do what I want to do.  Anyway,  she had a great birthday party.  It gets really busy around here this time of year with school starting then the day after her party was Teenage Christian Conference at our church which I believe the we had 800 people this year, the next weekend is Labor Day weekend so poor Ella didn't have a lot of people at her party this year but we had a great time!   Ella has become such the little girl this past year.  It's been so wonderful to see her grown into a fun loving little girl.  She exudes with love and compassion!  Her favorite things right now are Elmo, Barney (Rach- Haley and Ella need to get together for a Barney party!), BOOKS ( her favorite thing to say is "one mo book"), she can sing her ABC's with you, not clearly but she likes to chime in every now and then, she can show you one and five on her hand and she can talk in a complete sentence.  I'm so proud of my little 2 year old!

Jim got a new job.  He's still working with Oxy and actually still doing the job he has been doing but will soon be moving to the "field."  Ever since he got on with Oxy he's worked in the CO2 plants and as a pump mechanic.  His new job will still be a pump mechanic just out in the production field and not in the plants.  It's a much less dangerous and more laid back atmosphere (from what I understand.)  It's also much more of a long-term career move so looks like the next place we'll be moving is down the street to the cemetery.  Not really, but if you want to find us within the next 30 or so years you might want to check here first.

Today is our 5th anniversary!!!  I am so thankful and blessed that such a wonderful man chose ME to marry.  He is the most patient, loving, kind and tender man I've ever known and I just happen to get to be with him everyday.  I feel so fortunate to have that privilege!  He's everything I ever wanted in a husband and not to mention an incredible father!!  Thanks Jim for being so wonderful!!!!

Ok so I was going to add a few more pictures but it just added Sadie above our anniversary stuff and it's putting them weird places  and not letting me move them so I'll just post tomorrow with more pictures.

Happy 4th

Can you believe the 4th of July has already come and gone? My goodness, the 4th is like the epitome of summertime and with it being over that means that summertime is already in round 2 which means school starting, fall... Oh my, and have you been to any stores lately? They're putting out fall clothes and yes, Hobby Lobby is already putting out Christmas items. Saw them yesterday in Lubbock. Ok enough rambling!!

We had a wonderful 4th (which I don't have any pictures to show you right now because my "picture" computer is in the shop gettin' fixed but I will post them as soon as I get it back.) We went to San Angelo to visit my parents on Friday morning then I got to go to the spa for the day which was MARVELOUS!!! That is what I wanted for my birthday and yes, my birthday is in February but Sadie had just been born so I just now got around to it. Did I mention that it was FABULOUS??? We got up on Saturday to a day full of rain and sunshine. We really just relaxed and had a good boring day. On Sunday we went to church and when we got home it began to rain, AGAIN. It has rained everyday for the past week and a half. I don't think I have ever seen this much rain in West Texas. Then we went over to the Freemans, mom & dad's neighbors and friends, house to cookout and watch the fireworks- which we almost missed. Since it had rained so much we thought they might have canceled them because we waited and waited and waited and nothing so we went back over to mom and dads, turned on the 10 o'clock news and they were talking about them. Sure enough we walked out on their back porch just in time to catch about the last 10 min. It worked out well because I don't think Ella could have taken anymore. She's my 8:30-9:00 bedtime girl that doesn't do any later!! Then we all passed out and got up Monday and headed home.

Ella is really chatty-kathy these days and talks a lot of gibberish. It's so funny she gets her books and acts like she's reading them to you. What's funny is she's so serious about it but the words she makes up are so funny you want to laugh but then she thinks you're laughing at her. She loves playing with Jo-Jo and her dad is still a big hit. She is also wearing a size 9 shoe. Yes, a size 9. She wore a 6 forever. Then in May they were getting snug so I took her to Stride Rite and had her measured again and sure enough they said she needed a 7. Well, this weekend my mom mentioned to me the her tennis shoes felt snug and sure enough they were. We went to Stride Rite yesterday and they measured her foot and she measured an 8 1/2!! I was shocked. She looks like she has clown feet. I mean a 9? That's like a big girl shoe. Scarry is what it is. I'm afraid she might be as tall as her daddy. BTW- if you live in Lubbock or around the area Lil' Footprints is having a buy one get one FREE sale on all their shoes!!

Sadie is getting to be so much fun. She's officially turned 5 months on the 29th. She is almost sitting up and has rolled over once (we're still working on that one.) She tries really hard from her stomach to her back but those crazy arms seem to always get in the way. I think she's like her daddy and thinks too much about it instead of just doing it. She is loving to play with toys and look at everything. She's really starting to babble up a storm so her and her sister communicate pretty well. Ella loves it when Sadie talks to her, she thinks she pretty special, and she is. She also has 1 1/2 teeth. She cut her first tooth last week and this week she's working on the other. So besides being a little cranky all's good at the Turnbough household!

Again, sorry I don't have pics but will put them up as soon as I get my computer back!

Sadie- 4 months and Ella's big girl bed

We went in a couple of weeks ago for Sadie's 4 month well check. She weighed 14.8 lbs and was 24 in long. I was a little concerned about her weight since she had only gained a pound in 2 months but Dr. Tammy said as long as she is gaining we are good. Everything else looked great. We also had to get her 4 month vaccines which I HATE vaccines, but you have to do it. It did mess up her sleep schedule though. It did the same thing with Ella. I have asked around and everybody tells me that it helped their children sleep. NOT MINE!! Anyway, we are working on getting that back on track. I also started feeding her a little rice cereal before bed. Although it hasn't helped her sleep much better she sure does love it. If you don't feed it to her fast enough she starts to scream. Oh my! Sadie definitely has more of a temper than her sister.

We also moved Ella to a toddler bed. She was so proud of herself that she could get out. The first night presented a few challenges as she wanted to get out a lot but she has caught on really fast and stays in her bed until she wakes up in the morning or after her nap. I was really surprised that she has done so well with it. I really thought it would be more of a challenge than it has been. But she really understands when Jim and I give her pep talks. She listens carefully and usually tries really hard to follow the rules.

sweet pic with her daddy!

One of Ella's favorite summertime activities is going to the park. She is getting to be such a big girl. She climbs up the stairs, goes across the bridge, up some more stairs and down the slide all by herself, and is quite proud of herself too I might add. The slide is her absolute favorite!!

I am so thankful for my little girls. I never really wanted girls and now that I have them I don't know that I want any boys. I am so excited about our future and all the wonderful things that we are going to get to do together!!

3 1/2 months

What a great mothers day! We went to Camp Blue Haven to visit Jim's parents this past week and we had a great time. The weather was beautiful! Ella had a great time playing in the sand with her JU-JU and riding the mule with her dad and grandad.

Sadie has become quite the social bug this past week. She is smiling all the time and loves to talk up a storm. She has also discovered her hands and sucks on them profusely when trying to go to sleep. I am so proud of her she has slept in her own bed for the past 2 weeks and is sleeping 7 to 9 hours straight. We are having a great time with her and Ella is really starting to play with her a lot. Ella tries to teach Sadie everything. One of Ellas favorite things to do is to wave at Sadie, or Jo-Jo as Ella calls her, and then grab Sadie's hand and wave back at herself. She also talks to Sadie in a baby voice. Wonder where she learned that one.

Ella is so much fun and is talking so much. She repeats everthing you say and do. Today I was addressing birth announcements (I know they're about 2 months behind, but at least I did them.) Ella found a piece of paper and started licking it. I said "no Ella don't put that in your mouth." I thought to myself what is she doing? Then I realized she had seen me lick the envelopes and she was doing it too. One of her favorite things to do is to ride the lawnmower with her dad. Actually anthing dad is doing is great fun so she has to do it with him. Her favorite word these days is Ella or this week ME. If she wantes to go do something she says me, me, me and points to herself. She has also decided in the past few weeks that she no longer wants to go to Bible Class. Nothing happened she just wants to be with her daddy AT ALL TIMES!

Sadie & Ella

Ok Ok- I know it's been forever and since I'm getting so much harrassment for not updating in so long I decided that I better update.

It has been quite the whirlwind since Sadie has been here. She will be 3 months old a week from tomorrow and it has really gone pretty fast. When you're chasing around a 19 month old and tending to every little need of a newborn you're always doing one or the other throughout the whole day. I don't know if any of you saw Nadia Suleman "Octomom" on Oprah yesterday but it was a ZOO! I asked Ella as all of Nadia's 14 kids seemed to be crying all at once, I said that's a lot of kids huh Ella and she looked at me, grinned really big and said YEAH! It made me very thankful for my 2 girls that I was able to give them the attention they need even though some days it feels as though one or the other demands so much that the other is being neglected. I was also thankful for the sleep, althought not a lot right now, that I do get at night. I feel very blessed to be able to be Ella and Sadie's mother.

Sadie loves it when people talk to her. She gets a big grin on her face.

Ella is almost 20 months old and I can't believe it. She is talking so much and just really acts like a little girl. We have a lot of good laughs with Ella. She's quite the comedian. Here are some pictures we took when we went to my parents a couple weeks ago. We had to go searching for some bluebonnets and finally found a small patch on the side of the road.

Christmas and the home stretch

I didn't know Christmas could be so much fun again! We had a great time watching Ella's eyes light up with ALL of her presents. Her new sound when she sees something that she likes is a very hi pitched "AWWHHHHHHH." Needless to say there were plenty of those over the holidays.

Mom and dad came into town for Christmas day so we all got up to see that Santa had brought Ella a tricyle. She is quite fond of it even though she can't reach the petals yet. Her dad is a pro at pushing her around on it.

We then headed out for Lubbock to go see Jim's grandparents and ate a lot of food and had some great fellowship with the family.

Here's Ella in her Christmas outfit from Gran. Thanks Gran!!

On New Year's it was off to San Angelo to see Taylor and Audrey and do Christmas with them. It is always a lot of fun to get together with them. I felt so honored that they came all the way from London just to visit!! Then on Saturday after New Year's we traveled to Snyder to visit with my mom's family and then headed home.

We can't forget about the arrival of Miss Sadie. I went to the Dr. on Thurs. and we have planned the c-section for January 29th. Yes, that is 2 1/2 weeks away! Oh my! I can't believe I will be the mother of two girls. That's really scary. I'm 36weeks and feeling pretty good however, I am getting a bit uncomfortable. Please pray for a good delivery and fast recovery!

Here is a picture of my 36 week belly:
